Unknown
Hi, everyone. Welcome to another episode of Tina Arena. Today we have on Jo and she is here to tell us a story.
00;00;07;10 - 00;00;09;19
Unknown
Hi, Tina, thanks for having me on the podcast.
00;00;09;19 - 00;00;14;24
Unknown
the story I want to share with you today is the story of how I found energy healing.
00;00;14;24 - 00;00;21;06
Unknown
My sister wanted me to go with her on a retreat to Costa Rica in December 2022,
00;00;21;06 - 00;00;23;14
Unknown
she has been on her own journey,
00;00;23;14 - 00;00;25;19
Unknown
and found meditation.
00;00;25;19 - 00;00;29;08
Unknown
she's been asking me to join her in her little meditation podcast,
00;00;29;08 - 00;00;32;23
Unknown
for at least two years. And I always said, no, thank you.
00;00;32;23 - 00;00;38;23
Unknown
Then fast forward to January 2023, curated a beautiful three day
00;00;38;23 - 00;00;44;07
Unknown
wellness retreat, and we did some sound healing breathwork, to say the least.
00;00;44;07 - 00;00;47;10
Unknown
And I remember during the sound
00;00;47;10 - 00;00;53;27
Unknown
bath and breathwork, I exhaled the last of my concussion.
00;00;53;27 - 00;00;55;05
Unknown
I have suffered
00;00;55;05 - 00;01;00;05
Unknown
at least four concussions in my lifetime, and that caused me to take time off work.
00;01;00;05 - 00;01;08;03
Unknown
And I had no idea that during the experience of the sound bath and breath work, there was this excruciating pain where I got hurt and then it was gone.
00;01;08;03 - 00;01;16;08
Unknown
So after that, my sister as routine. When she did her meditation, she would always offer me her earbud.
00;01;16;08 - 00;01;20;13
Unknown
And I remember I think it was January 4th or fifth, 2023.
00;01;20;13 - 00;01;21;10
Unknown
I said sure.
00;01;21;10 - 00;01;26;27
Unknown
And since then I have not looked back from meditation. And so fast forward
00;01;26;27 - 00;01;33;03
Unknown
I was at a Tony Robbins conference and I happened to meet another person from Toronto.
00;01;33;03 - 00;01;34;29
Unknown
Out of the 10,000 people who were there
00;01;34;29 - 00;01;46;24
Unknown
and we happened to meet and his name is Satyendar Gill, and I happened to share with him that I was having some stomach pains that day. And he said, would you like the pain to go away? And I said, now.
00;01;46;24 - 00;01;49;07
Unknown
And he's like, yes, right now.
00;01;49;07 - 00;01;51;16
Unknown
but he's like, you have to be open and willing.
00;01;51;19 - 00;02;00;24
Unknown
So I said yes. So I stood up and he waved his hands for a good ten minutes. And I kid you not, the pain was gone.
00;02;00;24 - 00;02;02;18
Unknown
And I literally looked at him and I said,
00;02;02;18 - 00;02;07;10
Unknown
what did you do? What did you do? And he said, it's,
00;02;07;10 - 00;02;11;19
Unknown
called is energy healing. It's actually called Pranic healing. And
00;02;11;19 - 00;02;13;27
Unknown
one of Tony Robbins,
00;02;13;27 - 00;02;17;00
Unknown
healers is named Master Co, and he practices this.
00;02;17;02 - 00;02;21;01
Unknown
And I was like, oh, okay. And he's like, if you are interested in learning,
00;02;21;01 - 00;02;32;16
Unknown
there are conferences that you can go to and everyone is naturally a healer. It's just a matter of remembering what it's like and also being taught from the actual source. And so
00;02;32;16 - 00;02;34;13
Unknown
I ended up saying yes.
00;02;34;13 - 00;02;53;25
Unknown
I signed up for the course. It's five days. It's called Healers Mastery. It was highly intensive. We went for about 12 hours, 12 to 14 hours each day, and I have never looked back since. I've done that course twice already. There are other courses that you can do that deal with energy and prosperity and energy and just your,
00;02;53;25 - 00;02;54;22
Unknown
daily life.
00;02;54;22 - 00;03;05;29
Unknown
And I've taken the prosperity course at least three times. And the reason why I keep going back is because not only does it make me feel good, I'm actually injury free. So if anyone has known me,
00;03;05;29 - 00;03;13;06
Unknown
I've known you since 2019, but before that, I was actually injured for a good seven years.
00;03;13;06 - 00;03;21;04
Unknown
From, I think around 2012 to 2019, actually, funny enough, with knee injuries and sciatica.
00;03;21;07 - 00;03;25;10
Unknown
And then I got a concussion in 2019. That was my worst one.
00;03;25;10 - 00;03;27;03
Unknown
And I sit here before you
00;03;27;03 - 00;03;32;08
Unknown
being stronger than ever, injury free. It's not solely just from the energy work, but
00;03;32;08 - 00;03;37;09
Unknown
it was all because I happen to say yes to my sister and those choices that
00;03;37;09 - 00;03;47;24
Unknown
I made to have to say yes and open up all these opportunities, and then meeting a random person all the way in London, UK, Birmingham, actually.
00;03;47;24 - 00;03;51;14
Unknown
So it's not it's even further and saying yes to
00;03;51;14 - 00;03;57;09
Unknown
going to this energy class. And then I've also to now practice it daily and
00;03;57;09 - 00;03;59;21
Unknown
I just if I was to explain to you now, it's just
00;03;59;21 - 00;04;04;15
Unknown
amazing how all those choices can lead up to me being here with you today.
00;04;04;15 - 00;04;11;08
Unknown
Another part I would love to share is that when I was learning the stuff about energy work.
00;04;11;08 - 00;04;16;14
Unknown
I don't know if you remember Tina, but I think I would actually talk to you unless you'd be like, oh my God, Tina, this stuff is so cool.
00;04;16;14 - 00;04;17;04
Unknown
All these
00;04;17;04 - 00;04;26;09
Unknown
lessons or theories about self-improvement, and I wanted to kind of heal everyone around me or fix everyone around me,
00;04;26;09 - 00;04;27;11
Unknown
and you just want to share.
00;04;27;11 - 00;04;37;14
Unknown
So I don't know if you ever have felt like that when you're learning something new. But the biggest lesson that I learned is if you want to help others, you have to help yourself first.
00;04;37;14 - 00;04;38;13
Unknown
And so this
00;04;38;13 - 00;04;41;12
Unknown
whole experience of healing and energy work
00;04;41;12 - 00;04;45;02
Unknown
is you lead by example. And so I think because then I
00;04;45;02 - 00;04;46;00
Unknown
realize that
00;04;46;00 - 00;04;48;10
Unknown
and decided to live
00;04;48;10 - 00;04;49;21
Unknown
my life through example.
00;04;49;21 - 00;05;09;16
Unknown
And I can see it through your life as well. When you are doing certain projects or you want to be a certain someone, you literally are doing it for you versus trying to fix someone else first. So what I'm trying to say is, as I've decided to lead by example, do the practices myself rather than picking other people that I want to fix.
00;05;09;16 - 00;05;17;21
Unknown
It changed my world even more because then people around me were asking me, how come you're a more calm and more patient? And I was like,
00;05;17;21 - 00;05;18;08
Unknown
me,
00;05;18;08 - 00;05;24;10
Unknown
cool. Thank you. And, what is it that you've been doing? And I said, I also,
00;05;24;10 - 00;05;26;01
Unknown
do energy healing and,
00;05;26;01 - 00;05;27;01
Unknown
even my mum
00;05;27;01 - 00;05;29;06
Unknown
is one of the strongest
00;05;29;06 - 00;05;33;03
Unknown
people I know in my life, and she just loves so hard.
00;05;33;03 - 00;05;36;20
Unknown
she had diagnosed with two brain inner isms back in,
00;05;36;20 - 00;05;42;18
Unknown
2021, got surgery in September 2021, and now by December 2024,
00;05;42;18 - 00;05;47;03
Unknown
they're healed. The anneurisms are gone. And so, coincidentally enough,
00;05;47;03 - 00;05;53;18
Unknown
I started practicing energy work in 2023. And just I think being proximity like, that's when I move back home.
00;05;53;18 - 00;06;00;24
Unknown
And so it was really cool to see she actually one of my favorite moments of 2024 was when when my mom said yes to meditating with me.
00;06;00;24 - 00;06;03;20
Unknown
So it kind of comes full circle and my sister is always ask me,
00;06;03;20 - 00;06;15;16
Unknown
and then I ask my mom, and I will never forget that day because she said no for the whole year. And it wasn't until December 2024 where she said yes.
00;06;15;16 - 00;06;16;04
Unknown
And
00;06;16;04 - 00;06;17;15
Unknown
whether or not
00;06;17;15 - 00;06;27;17
Unknown
energy work or the fact that I've been practicing it or it's in our family's lives now had anything to do with healing her mannerisms, I'm still very grateful for that.
00;06;27;18 - 00;06;38;04
Unknown
It just happened to happen at the same time. Just happened to happen at the same time. Coincidence? We just want to say it's a coincidence. So I think that journey, just seeing how
00;06;38;04 - 00;06;40;04
Unknown
if I want to help people,
00;06;40;04 - 00;06;50;26
Unknown
I need to help myself first. So that is probably the coolest but most powerful learning that I now actually talking to you about it.
00;06;50;26 - 00;06;51;13
Unknown
And I'm like,
00;06;51;13 - 00;06;58;04
Unknown
I think that's the right path. And so as I, I'm very grateful that you're asking me about this story because
00;06;58;04 - 00;07;01;06
Unknown
that is one way to just help the world and heal.
00;07;01;06 - 00;07;04;25
Unknown
I think sharing your story helps you
00;07;04;25 - 00;07;12;01
Unknown
kind of own it even though you already knew it was there and it was yours. Just speaking it aloud makes it more real somehow.
00;07;12;04 - 00;07;13;07
Unknown
Yes. And
00;07;13;07 - 00;07;22;13
Unknown
I think you also just mentioned this earlier. But sometimes when you're in the story, it doesn't feel as if it's significant or importance. Or when I ask you if you want to write a book,
00;07;22;13 - 00;07;23;28
Unknown
and sometimes you're like,
00;07;23;28 - 00;07;26;28
Unknown
I'm not as adventurous yet to share that, but
00;07;26;28 - 00;07;28;14
Unknown
it's for me to share a story with you.
00;07;28;14 - 00;07;39;01
Unknown
It's like, it's just my story, though, on your podcast, but you're right. When you say the story aloud, it's like, that happened and I am owning that story, and that's really cool. And I've also learned
00;07;39;01 - 00;07;41;15
Unknown
that everyone's story is
00;07;41;15 - 00;07;43;21
Unknown
their own, and that's what makes it powerful.
00;07;43;21 - 00;07;58;14
Unknown
And it helps resonate with other people. And if my story can help ignite whatever it is that they're trying to find, whether it is because they're in physical pain or emotional pain, but or they're just trying to find something or a reason to change, then
00;07;58;14 - 00;07;59;25
Unknown
that's also so cool.
00;07;59;25 - 00;08;01;02
Unknown
If the story can do that.
00;08;01;02 - 00;08;04;10
Unknown
You said you practice every day. What does that look like.
00;08;04;10 - 00;08;17;10
Unknown
So actually one of my favorite things to do and I am a big procrastinator from work tasks. But what really helps is meditation. So I do a guided meditation that's called Twin Hearts.
00;08;17;10 - 00;08;19;16
Unknown
it's like a foundational meditation
00;08;19;16 - 00;08;20;23
Unknown
in pranic healing.
00;08;20;24 - 00;08;23;01
Unknown
there's a recording that's given, actually
00;08;23;01 - 00;08;26;28
Unknown
Grandmaster toolbox away. He left his body,
00;08;26;28 - 00;08;36;25
Unknown
I think about in 2008, but he was actually an engineer by trade, so it was also really cool about this practice is that they were engineers first, and all they did was do
00;08;36;25 - 00;08;41;13
Unknown
experiments. See, if they do this kind of healing, what happens to the body if they do this?
00;08;41;13 - 00;08;43;28
Unknown
So long story short, they were able to capture his
00;08;43;28 - 00;08;52;26
Unknown
essence or his teachings through CDs and stuff. So I do listen to the audio. It's also readily on YouTube now because some people have,
00;08;52;26 - 00;09;03;04
Unknown
share that as well. And so what it would look like is sometimes between 15 to 20 minutes of guided meditation. And then sometimes my evening practice,
00;09;03;04 - 00;09;04;08
Unknown
is Epsom salt
00;09;04;08 - 00;09;05;05
Unknown
foot soak,
00;09;05;05 - 00;09;11;03
Unknown
to help cleanse and release any negative energy and also receive blessings and then also do that guided meditation.
00;09;11;03 - 00;09;13;27
Unknown
And you do that every day or most days.
00;09;13;27 - 00;09;17;29
Unknown
I notice that my meditation is better and the evening.
00;09;17;29 - 00;09;33;21
Unknown
But now I've noticed sometimes with summer happening I do having to do it maybe at least three times a week. And I do like to throw in just a 5 to 10 minute of no guided meditation and just sit.
00;09;33;21 - 00;09;38;24
Unknown
It's actually better for me to sit outside and I ground my bare feet on the grass,
00;09;38;24 - 00;09;40;24
Unknown
and I do that for about five minutes.
00;09;40;26 - 00;09;44;09
Unknown
How often, you say? Probably if I get the chance once a week.
00;09;44;09 - 00;10;01;09
Unknown
When you were talking about your decision to go to the Healing Conference or when you said yes, you said there was just a feeling and you just kind of followed it, was there any hesitation or like was your like logical mind being like, no, what are you doing?
00;10;01;09 - 00;10;01;20
Unknown
This is
00;10;01;20 - 00;10;06;17
Unknown
what was that like? Yeah. Because one just met this person
00;10;06;17 - 00;10;23;19
Unknown
in Birmingham, UK. He's from Toronto, but he's also part of the Tony Robbins Platinum family. So what that is, is a special membership that Tony Robbins has. And so not everyone is part of that. So I know that at least that's one level of good people.
00;10;23;21 - 00;10;24;04
Unknown
But
00;10;24;04 - 00;10;27;16
Unknown
that person is actually just someone I just met. And so
00;10;27;16 - 00;10;29;10
Unknown
when you ask me about logic,
00;10;29;10 - 00;10;34;17
Unknown
the finances, you know, paying for the hotel, paying for the flight, paying for the conference themselves,
00;10;34;17 - 00;10;37;12
Unknown
I want to say I didn't think twice about it,
00;10;37;12 - 00;10;44;12
Unknown
but maybe it wasn't until after I already paid for it that the logic or your mind started to be like, is this the right thing?
00;10;44;14 - 00;10;50;23
Unknown
Like, what are you doing? You literally just met these people and you're going to go
00;10;50;23 - 00;10;52;18
Unknown
spend money on something you don't know.
00;10;52;18 - 00;11;02;09
Unknown
If I was to be honest, though, I guess I didn't have as much doubt as one would think, because I think internally I just felt like it was the right decision. However, the mind loves
00;11;02;09 - 00;11;03;16
Unknown
making you overthink.
00;11;03;18 - 00;11;04;08
Unknown
And
00;11;04;08 - 00;11;10;14
Unknown
it did set in for a bit after the fact when I spent the money. Because sometimes if you were, if I was to tell my mum,
00;11;10;14 - 00;11;17;09
Unknown
why are you spending money on these things, it doesn't make sense. Like it's stuff that you don't know. And so sometimes that's also the
00;11;17;09 - 00;11;19;12
Unknown
downside of when you share things with others.
00;11;19;14 - 00;11;25;11
Unknown
They could put doubt in your mind. So not only the logical side, but the doubts of other people's,
00;11;25;11 - 00;11;27;06
Unknown
narratives because they don't know.
00;11;27;06 - 00;11;29;21
Unknown
But in all honesty, it wasn't as,
00;11;29;21 - 00;11;34;19
Unknown
resistant as I thought it would be. Okay, so that's a very great question.
00;11;34;19 - 00;11;38;08
Unknown
Would you say you didn't believe in energy work before this all happened?
00;11;38;08 - 00;11;40;06
Unknown
I've always believed in some sort of
00;11;40;06 - 00;11;43;24
Unknown
higher power. Like I am, I do believe in God. I.
00;11;43;24 - 00;11;46;24
Unknown
Used to pray and used to be part of church.
00;11;46;24 - 00;11;52;25
Unknown
I know something there is of a greater power that's out there. But whether now it's called energy healing or energy work.
00;11;52;25 - 00;11;57;13
Unknown
Now I have a terminology for it, but I think I always knew that there's some sort of.
00;11;57;13 - 00;11;59;01
Unknown
Power at work that we can't see.
00;11;59;01 - 00;12;11;02
Unknown
And if it all connects to the idea of all the energy spirituality stuff, then I think I've always known for it to exist, especially if I'm someone who has faith and believes in a god.
00;12;11;04 - 00;12;16;08
Unknown
And I think you are also generally very open to
00;12;16;08 - 00;12;18;12
Unknown
new ideas to receiving.
00;12;18;12 - 00;12;21;14
Unknown
you're very friendly. You're very kind. You're very giving.
00;12;21;14 - 00;12;28;18
Unknown
I think it was very easy for that person from Toronto to just like approach you. Because like you were a yes.
00;12;28;20 - 00;12;37;27
Unknown
Yeah. But if I know that that actually brings up something, this stuff or this energy healing or healing in general won't work
00;12;37;27 - 00;12;42;11
Unknown
if you don't believe in it. So if a person says no
00;12;42;11 - 00;12;46;29
Unknown
I can do all the amount of healing that I can do and it won't work for them.
00;12;46;29 - 00;12;48;05
Unknown
Why do you think that
00;12;48;05 - 00;12;49;04
Unknown
is the case.
00;12;49;04 - 00;12;54;15
Unknown
let's talk about from an energetic perspective. When someone says no it's literally putting up a wall.
00;12;54;17 - 00;12;56;02
Unknown
And so it's like not consent.
00;12;56;02 - 00;12;58;11
Unknown
it's kind of cool where you can't
00;12;58;11 - 00;13;11;27
Unknown
do something without someone's consent. But I think that's very respectful. For me I'm all about respect and fairness and integrity. Yeah. And so energetically I feel and whether this is true or not that when someone does not give their consent then it's not going to work.
00;13;11;29 - 00;13;13;06
Unknown
Another thing is, like
00;13;13;06 - 00;13;14;09
Unknown
we were told
00;13;14;09 - 00;13;18;23
Unknown
what you believe comes true, right? So whether you're going to have a good day or a bad day, you're right.
00;13;18;23 - 00;13;20;00
Unknown
Have you heard of that before?
00;13;20;00 - 00;13;24;05
Unknown
if we focus on all the bad things are going to happen, what are we going to see?
00;13;24;07 - 00;13;32;05
Unknown
All the bad things. If we focus on all the good things that are going to happen, what are we going to notice all the good things. So I think also that plays into it.
00;13;32;05 - 00;13;36;11
Unknown
And so if I really think it's not going to work then I'm going to look for all the things that prove is not going to work.
00;13;36;11 - 00;13;39;13
Unknown
So as a person that is trying to be more positive,
00;13;39;13 - 00;13;40;25
Unknown
how do I
00;13;40;25 - 00;13;44;15
Unknown
like say something bad happens to me. Say I
00;13;44;15 - 00;13;46;10
Unknown
crashed my car into a pole.
00;13;46;10 - 00;13;48;20
Unknown
How do I think. How do I go about that.
00;13;48;20 - 00;13;52;14
Unknown
The first thing that comes to mind is if you are able to walk away from that,
00;13;52;14 - 00;13;54;21
Unknown
that itself is a positive.
00;13;54;24 - 00;13;56;01
Unknown
The fact they're able to walk away.
00;13;56;01 - 00;13;57;11
Unknown
I do now that you
00;13;57;11 - 00;13;59;14
Unknown
know that you bring up that kind of scenario.
00;13;59;14 - 00;14;02;00
Unknown
I've had people in the past be like
00;14;02;00 - 00;14;13;26
Unknown
Joe have you. I feel like you might think this way because you don't want to feel whatever negative thing you're feeling or feel the, the lesson or whatever you always just want to
00;14;13;26 - 00;14;15;06
Unknown
pave it over with
00;14;15;06 - 00;14;16;04
Unknown
a positive thought.
00;14;16;05 - 00;14;19;09
Unknown
Toxic positivity. Yeah. So it's cool.
00;14;19;09 - 00;14;22;16
Unknown
And then in my in my mind I was like do I do that.
00;14;22;16 - 00;14;24;23
Unknown
let's do a little check here. Do I do that.
00;14;24;23 - 00;14;32;24
Unknown
And I think I can confidently say that I don't do that. Maybe I might have in the past, but I
00;14;32;24 - 00;14;37;01
Unknown
if our choices, if we have the power to choose our thoughts,
00;14;37;01 - 00;14;41;17
Unknown
why wouldn't I use the same energy to choose a productive or positive thought?
00;14;41;19 - 00;14;42;14
Unknown
Versus
00;14;42;14 - 00;14;51;09
Unknown
the negative or unproductive thought or the destructive thought. So to answer your question about okay, the scenario of you crashed your car into the pole
00;14;51;09 - 00;14;52;22
Unknown
How can I be more positive from it.
00;14;52;22 - 00;14;56;06
Unknown
I guess seeing yeah. The first thing is the fact if you're still alive, that's a blessing.
00;14;56;08 - 00;15;03;18
Unknown
And then to the fact that if you didn't hurt anyone else, right. If it was just the car itself, I think that
00;15;03;18 - 00;15;07;19
Unknown
is also enough to notice, like I was able to walk away or I don't have any,
00;15;07;19 - 00;15;10;01
Unknown
critical injuries and I didn't hurt anyone else.
00;15;10;01 - 00;15;13;05
Unknown
Does that kind of it? Does that answer your question? That makes sense.
00;15;13;07 - 00;15;17;05
Unknown
Yeah, because if I'm just imagining that scenario,
00;15;17;05 - 00;15;22;08
Unknown
I feel like my regular response just be like, oh, I'm such an idiot. Oh, like, how could I let that happen?
00;15;22;08 - 00;15;24;28
Unknown
Yeah. Like things along that line. So
00;15;24;28 - 00;15;36;01
Unknown
those are very much destructive thoughts and not helpful. So just to reframe that and to think the way that you're thinking, I can see how it would be beneficial.
00;15;36;03 - 00;15;39;16
Unknown
That pattern thinking of oh I'm such an idiot or I made a mistake.
00;15;39;16 - 00;15;40;07
Unknown
I've done it.
00;15;40;07 - 00;15;50;09
Unknown
I still do it at times. And I think to add another suggestion to your question in, in addition to saying that was I able to walk away from it is
00;15;50;09 - 00;15;50;26
Unknown
okay.
00;15;50;26 - 00;15;54;24
Unknown
I went a little too fast or this is too dangerous.
00;15;54;27 - 00;15;55;27
Unknown
I made a mistake.
00;15;55;27 - 00;15;59;24
Unknown
I won't do that again. So it's more of a learning versus punishing yourself.
00;15;59;26 - 00;16;08;26
Unknown
And I guess I'm. Am I allowed to ask you a question? Yeah. And I guess when I say those things, you know how people these days that they're noticing the power of words
00;16;08;26 - 00;16;11;13
Unknown
and how what you do tell yourself
00;16;11;13 - 00;16;14;21
Unknown
your body listens to. So, for example, if you keep when you make a mistake,
00;16;14;21 - 00;16;18;15
Unknown
do you always say, I'm such an idiot or you're a dumb ass or,
00;16;18;15 - 00;16;19;29
Unknown
I'm so dumb, I'm so stupid.
00;16;19;29 - 00;16;23;19
Unknown
Do you think that in your perspective it is
00;16;23;19 - 00;16;26;10
Unknown
necessary? Or, I guess, maybe
00;16;26;10 - 00;16;29;27
Unknown
productive to try and change that self-talk?
00;16;29;27 - 00;16;37;02
Unknown
Is that something that you've noticed that you wanted to do or like? Literally, it's proven that it is better for anyone to try.
00;16;37;02 - 00;16;39;18
Unknown
I've noticed that I want to be
00;16;39;18 - 00;16;48;11
Unknown
more positive. I think my thoughts tend to skew negatively or self-destructive, and I
00;16;48;11 - 00;16;51;07
Unknown
and I'm obviously not like, super happy with the person that I am.
00;16;51;09 - 00;16;52;26
Unknown
Okay, maybe not obvious, but
00;16;52;26 - 00;16;54;19
Unknown
it's not.
00;16;54;19 - 00;17;10;28
Unknown
But if there's just something like there's always just, I don't know, this layer of, like, more like it could be better. Like, my life is pretty good, but I'm also 100% sure that it could be better. And I it's not really
00;17;10;28 - 00;17;16;04
Unknown
about getting more, having more. It's about my attitude about myself, I think.
00;17;16;06 - 00;17;16;27
Unknown
Interesting.
00;17;16;29 - 00;17;20;10
Unknown
I see, I can't I don't believe you when you say you did this stuff about yourself.
00;17;20;10 - 00;17;26;10
Unknown
Like I wish I could shake you and show in the mirror like, oh man, but it's actually really cool that you realize
00;17;26;10 - 00;17;30;14
Unknown
it's not about having more. It's the attitude that you have. But as your friend,
00;17;30;14 - 00;17;34;08
Unknown
I literally see you as this beacon of
00;17;34;08 - 00;17;41;19
Unknown
positive light and love and the willingness to to try something and fail and learn.
00;17;41;21 - 00;17;43;21
Unknown
Like, that's how I see you. So it's like it's,
00;17;43;21 - 00;17;46;29
Unknown
it is it's not hard for me to hear because I also
00;17;46;29 - 00;17;49;11
Unknown
it's not like the first time you mentioned it.
00;17;49;11 - 00;17;52;00
Unknown
But after all your growth. Yeah.
00;17;52;00 - 00;17;56;12
Unknown
And I don't know if I'm allowed to turn this on you now, but that's okay. After all your growth,
00;17;56;12 - 00;17;58;01
Unknown
does it still feel like it's not?
00;17;58;03 - 00;18;00;23
Unknown
And I know you just said it, but it does it actually feel like it's not enough?
00;18;00;23 - 00;18;08;14
Unknown
I mean, I've, I think I, you know, there's a lot I always, I always say like, I wish I was more fun. Yeah, I wish I was more energetic.
00;18;08;14 - 00;18;12;04
Unknown
I think that's just been like a general theme of my life. Like,
00;18;12;04 - 00;18;14;08
Unknown
I don't know what else can I improve.
00;18;14;10 - 00;18;15;10
Unknown
You know, it's so cool though,
00;18;15;10 - 00;18;18;08
Unknown
the fact that you're not sitting around
00;18;18;08 - 00;18;25;17
Unknown
like complaining about it. I'm worried about it. I think I do, which is crazy because I don't think you do. But then again like
00;18;25;17 - 00;18;32;28
Unknown
I only see you every so often and I don't see how you are like with your self, like you with your self and me with my self is very different.
00;18;32;28 - 00;18;50;20
Unknown
Yeah. Yeah. No, no, I'm not saying like different because of our persona, but different because like how you are with yourself is obviously very different with how you are with us as friends. Yeah. Yeah. Got it. And I'm I don't know what's in here and in here. I would like to assume, based on what you post and based on what you read, or at least what I think you do.
00;18;50;22 - 00;18;59;22
Unknown
Like, you've done a really great job at trying to filter out the shit and and not only allowing things in to help.
00;18;59;22 - 00;19;00;26
Unknown
And it's not perfect.
00;19;00;26 - 00;19;05;05
Unknown
And so that's why you recognize it and you're willing to grow. So in my opinion, like,
00;19;05;05 - 00;19;11;13
Unknown
yeah, you're like damn. Like Gina's always doing something and it's always something that's productive or helpful.
00;19;11;13 - 00;19;12;02
Unknown
And I'm like
00;19;12;02 - 00;19;15;21
Unknown
sitting on my couch. Maybe I'm meditating or not,
00;19;15;21 - 00;19;21;11
Unknown
But I hope you know that. Yeah, I you are definitely more than a.
00;19;21;11 - 00;19;23;24
Unknown
The word disappointment is not what I'm looking for, but
00;19;23;24 - 00;19;25;18
Unknown
one you're not a disappointment
00;19;25;18 - 00;19;33;01
Unknown
to. If anything, you're literally such a great example of if you want to change, you can but it takes work.
00;19;33;01 - 00;19;34;26
Unknown
And it is a lot of work.
00;19;34;26 - 00;19;35;24
Unknown
It's exhausting.
00;19;35;24 - 00;19;40;17
Unknown
It is actually. But I was just talking to someone else about this. Like
00;19;40;17 - 00;19;46;02
Unknown
also not changing and still not liking who you are is also exhausting. Yeah.
00;19;46;02 - 00;19;48;08
Unknown
And some other I just mentioned before
00;19;48;08 - 00;19;50;10
Unknown
you have this, let's just say and
00;19;50;10 - 00;19;55;25
Unknown
maybe science can prove this, you have the same amount of energy to choose that positive thought or negative thought.
00;19;55;28 - 00;19;56;15
Unknown
Which one
00;19;56;15 - 00;20;02;00
Unknown
would you want. I have the choice to look at what I don't have or look at what I do have.
00;20;02;00 - 00;20;07;22
Unknown
And what's cool is it's a choice. So unfortunately for some people they feel like it's not their choice
00;20;07;22 - 00;20;09;16
Unknown
but it actually is.
00;20;09;16 - 00;20;15;02
Unknown
No one else can tell you what to do except you to unless your life circumstances are different.
00;20;15;02 - 00;20;18;03
Unknown
So as the master of that master that I follow
00;20;18;03 - 00;20;28;25
Unknown
his stuff does say that it is literally a choice. But I know from experience being an education field as well. Trying to tell someone who has a mental health illness that it's their choice that they're in, that
00;20;28;27 - 00;20;30;11
Unknown
may not be necessarily helpful.
00;20;30;15 - 00;20;33;05
Unknown
Yeah. So I guess it all depends on
00;20;33;05 - 00;20;39;03
Unknown
how to get that message there because it is a simple choice though. But sometimes depending on the person's circumstance
00;20;39;03 - 00;20;41;21
Unknown
hearing that may feel very hurtful and not helpful.
00;20;41;21 - 00;20;42;04
Unknown
Or.
00;20;42;04 - 00;20;45;10
Unknown
They just might not understand that concept.
00;20;45;10 - 00;20;49;27
Unknown
And so at the end of the day whether or not it is a choice, they don't know how to choose.
00;20;49;27 - 00;20;51;10
Unknown
That's very good point. Yeah.
00;20;51;10 - 00;20;55;15
Unknown
Because I think that's where I was at when I was depressed.
00;20;55;15 - 00;20;58;04
Unknown
Obviously I'm not choosing to be there.
00;20;58;04 - 00;21;01;08
Unknown
But I didn't know any different.
00;21;01;09 - 00;21;18;16
Unknown
Number one, I didn't know like why I was in it. And I didn't also understand that it was a signal that something was wrong. I thought that, like, this was just it, and I was just, like, stuck in my unhappiness.
00;21;18;16 - 00;21;24;28
Unknown
And I didn't realize that I could have changed it. It took I don't know what it took to break me out of that.
00;21;24;28 - 00;21;26;24
Unknown
I'm not. I don't remember anymore. But.
00;21;26;24 - 00;21;29;07
Unknown
Yeah, like, when you're in it, you just. You're in it.
00;21;29;08 - 00;21;31;24
Unknown
You can't see outside I guess.
00;21;31;24 - 00;21;33;01
Unknown
I have another question. Can I ask.
00;21;33;01 - 00;21;34;04
Unknown
So now that you've
00;21;34;04 - 00;21;41;29
Unknown
gone through your own journey and what you just mentioned, and you actually just mentioned that you don't remember how you got out of it because people pay money
00;21;41;29 - 00;21;42;28
Unknown
to fix
00;21;42;28 - 00;21;48;13
Unknown
themselves, let alone, let's say, to heal from, oh girl, you don't know how much money I spent, right?
00;21;48;13 - 00;21;54;01
Unknown
But this is what essentially teachers, mentors, coaches like Tony Robbins
00;21;54;01 - 00;22;01;03
Unknown
just using that as a as from my previous story. But he also has built his program on the fact that he's gone through
00;22;01;03 - 00;22;03;14
Unknown
what he did from literally being,
00;22;03;14 - 00;22;04;29
Unknown
on the streets to now,
00;22;04;29 - 00;22;08;29
Unknown
let's say, multi-billionaire, trying to encourage people and motivate people
00;22;08;29 - 00;22;14;01
Unknown
But what I'm trying to say is you've been there through your journey, overcoming depression,
00;22;14;01 - 00;22;15;15
Unknown
living with your ADHD.
00;22;15;15 - 00;22;21;27
Unknown
I'm going to ask you, trying to remember the, I guess, top five things that perhaps could help someone,
00;22;21;27 - 00;22;27;26
Unknown
Whether it is being happier with yourself or overcoming your depression or
00;22;27;26 - 00;22;30;28
Unknown
I guess what would the tips be? Because I think that's what
00;22;30;28 - 00;22;33;19
Unknown
people kind of would want to know and resonate with.
00;22;33;19 - 00;22;42;11
Unknown
so how it works is you've done that learning and now you want to maybe if you want to shorten it for others. But I guess my question is what would be your tip?
00;22;42;11 - 00;22;48;08
Unknown
I think at the end of the day, it comes back to that personality trait of me never having enough.
00;22;48;10 - 00;22;52;00
Unknown
And always looking for that extra layer.
00;22;52;00 - 00;22;52;22
Unknown
Because
00;22;52;22 - 00;22;58;28
Unknown
I know there is more to life than this. Like there's no way this is it. So with that
00;22;58;28 - 00;23;09;15
Unknown
underlying, I don't know, a personality trait of mine. Even when I was depressed, we even when I had my eating disorder like I was always trying to fix myself.
00;23;09;15 - 00;23;13;20
Unknown
I have just been on a continuous journey of education,
00;23;13;20 - 00;23;22;22
Unknown
just nonstop education. And if I couldn't solve a problem, then I just keep learning about it until eventually I solve it.
00;23;22;23 - 00;23;23;06
Unknown
Yeah,
00;23;23;06 - 00;23;27;15
Unknown
yeah. So my education has always been like self serving.
00;23;27;15 - 00;23;38;10
Unknown
When I had my eating disorder, I was obsessed with fitness and nutrition and just learning all that I could about it. And then I healed myself from my eating disorder. And then I moved on to
00;23;38;10 - 00;23;43;07
Unknown
I don't know what I moved on to, like coaching and building an online business and stuff like that.
00;23;43;07 - 00;23;47;25
Unknown
I think that's like the number one thing for me is like, I never gave up and I just always continue to learn,
00;23;47;25 - 00;23;54;16
Unknown
And I love that. You also mentioned the learning that you were doing was self serving. But I mean, you also
00;23;54;16 - 00;23;57;17
Unknown
inherently and later self serves others. So
00;23;57;17 - 00;23;58;27
Unknown
and it's okay that it was that
00;23;58;27 - 00;23;59;14
Unknown
because
00;23;59;14 - 00;24;03;27
Unknown
I think that's my journey is to unfortunately suffer
00;24;03;27 - 00;24;06;16
Unknown
but learn and then share because I have no problem.
00;24;06;16 - 00;24;19;13
Unknown
I know a lot of people have problems talking about their past sharing and stuff, but I have no problem with that. So I think it's a part of my journey is to share and talk about it. Yeah, and to get other people to share and talk about it.
00;24;19;13 - 00;24;24;26
Unknown
Yeah, because I never really thought about it until you asked the question.
00;24;24;26 - 00;24;26;03
Unknown
it's kind of nice
00;24;26;03 - 00;24;31;14
Unknown
when you get to reflect on what you've done and how far you've come, but also the why why am I doing this
00;24;31;14 - 00;24;32;14
Unknown
in the first place.
00;24;32;14 - 00;24;34;07
Unknown
And so thank you for that.
00;24;34;07 - 00;24;36;10
Unknown
Of course. Thank you for being here.
00;24;36;10 - 00;24;38;04
Unknown
I actually brought one of
00;24;38;04 - 00;24;39;07
Unknown
my favorite books.
00;24;39;07 - 00;24;41;10
Unknown
Can I share with you what it's about.
00;24;41;14 - 00;24;41;26
Unknown
Yeah.
00;24;41;26 - 00;24;53;24
Unknown
this book found me when I was doing some clean up, and I, I it's the second book that's found me. So the first book that found me during my healing journey is by Louise Hayes.
00;24;53;24 - 00;24;56;25
Unknown
And I think I told this to you and I was like,
00;24;56;25 - 00;24;58;28
Unknown
it was published when we were born.
00;24;59;02 - 00;25;01;22
Unknown
Okay, I don't know when my sister was born, having 1984.
00;25;01;22 - 00;25;03;23
Unknown
I don't know how it ended up in my room.
00;25;03;23 - 00;25;05;03
Unknown
it's called Heal Your Body.
00;25;05;03 - 00;25;05;23
Unknown
And
00;25;05;23 - 00;25;17;15
Unknown
the premise behind it is behind every physical ailment. There's some sort of energetic component, and it could be alleviated or helped with by affirmations.
00;25;17;17 - 00;25;27;04
Unknown
These are thought patterns that because thoughts carry energy. And so when you say a certain affirmation, it actually has a certain energetic component
00;25;27;04 - 00;25;29;13
Unknown
that helps your body heal.
00;25;29;13 - 00;25;32;12
Unknown
Anyhow, it's mind blowing. So then this one found me
00;25;32;12 - 00;25;33;22
Unknown
when I was cleaning, and it's,
00;25;33;22 - 00;25;46;11
Unknown
called Daily Guidance from Your Angels by Doreen Virtue. And so what I do is when I meditate, it's kind of like a tarot reading, but I open to a page, so it's 306 five messages.
00;25;46;13 - 00;25;49;16
Unknown
And I kid you not, every time I've opened the book,
00;25;49;16 - 00;26;00;09
Unknown
it's a message that I needed to hear. And so I'd love to give you the opportunity to just open to a page. Okay. And there's gonna be two messages.
00;26;00;09 - 00;26;03;17
Unknown
Either both you want to read about or you just pick the one
00;26;03;17 - 00;26;04;04
Unknown
and,
00;26;04;04 - 00;26;07;16
Unknown
maybe we'll see what kind of message is for you and I today.
00;26;07;23 - 00;26;10;18
Unknown
Okay. Yeah. Okay. I'm right here.
00;26;10;18 - 00;26;15;18
Unknown
Okay. You can just hold it and then you can flip through it or just open to the page and
00;26;15;18 - 00;26;16;29
Unknown
okay. Yeah.
00;26;16;29 - 00;26;18;20
Unknown
Oh no. Oh,
00;26;18;20 - 00;26;19;07
Unknown
oh
00;26;19;07 - 00;26;22;24
Unknown
You read that. Yeah. It says let go of self-judgment
00;26;22;24 - 00;26;28;25
Unknown
the angels. Oh yes. Right. Keith. So if you're listening, this book is
00;26;28;25 - 00;26;29;21
Unknown
ten for ten.
00;26;29;21 - 00;26;50;12
Unknown
Well, ultimately, the only person you need to forgive is yourself. Any anger, resentment, or grudges that you hold towards others can always be traced back to feelings you have about yourself. This is why some of your attempts to forgive others have seemed unsuccessful. Until you forgive yourself, self-reproach will bleed into your relationships with those around you.
00;26;50;12 - 00;26;53;03
Unknown
So forgiveness is different from accepting blame.
00;26;53;05 - 00;27;13;05
Unknown
Instead, it means first facing your feelings of guilt or anger. Admitting these feelings to yourself releases the power they had over you previously while they remained hidden secrets. Your self candor will lead you to the understanding that you didn't do anything bad, because nothing wrong can happen in God's universe today. Forgive yourself for what you think you did or didn't do.
00;27;13;08 - 00;27;21;09
Unknown
Release the illusion of blame or self contempt. Since you're 100% love just like your creator, you're only capable of cherishing yourself.
00;27;21;09 - 00;27;35;06
Unknown
The thought for today I release any judgment towards myself as I view myself through the lens of love. I have compassion for myself, knowing that I am always doing the best I can. God's universe is perfect now and always.
00;27;35;08 - 00;27;39;10
Unknown
That's right on point. Big deal.
00;27;39;10 - 00;27;40;20
Unknown
Yeah. Oh wow.
00;27;40;20 - 00;27;41;09
Unknown
Thank you.
00;27;41;09 - 00;27;43;12
Unknown
So Jasmine thank you for sharing that.
00;27;43;14 - 00;27;49;06
Unknown
I just felt like I wanted to share this with you because one, I think, like, you're also open to things like this, but to,
00;27;49;06 - 00;27;50;25
Unknown
it's just a coincidence.
00;27;50;25 - 00;27;52;16
Unknown
Right. It's just a coincidence.
00;27;52;16 - 00;27;54;27
Unknown
I want to ask you the same thing. You can ask me,
00;27;54;27 - 00;27;59;09
Unknown
what is like a tip you have maybe for yourself 10 to 20 years ago.
00;27;59;09 - 00;28;01;20
Unknown
The first thing that comes to mind is
00;28;01;20 - 00;28;03;10
Unknown
taking care of your body.
00;28;03;10 - 00;28;04;03
Unknown
It's like
00;28;04;03 - 00;28;07;21
Unknown
I've literally been told through all my injuries and given
00;28;07;21 - 00;28;08;15
Unknown
remedies,
00;28;08;15 - 00;28;10;21
Unknown
and I've kind of ignored it because it wasn't as bad.
00;28;10;21 - 00;28;11;25
Unknown
if I was to have a tip
00;28;11;25 - 00;28;15;26
Unknown
your body is your temple like, and I, I don't think I'll ever make fun of.
00;28;16;03 - 00;28;18;06
Unknown
Not that I did, but ever make fun of anyone who,
00;28;18;06 - 00;28;21;16
Unknown
like, cherishes sleep or wants to take care of the body, go to the gym.
00;28;21;16 - 00;28;23;10
Unknown
And so one tip would be,
00;28;23;10 - 00;28;27;25
Unknown
yeah, physical activity is your your medicine the best medicine.
00;28;27;25 - 00;28;30;09
Unknown
And it can heal.
00;28;30;09 - 00;28;34;21
Unknown
In addition to, to love. But the best thing is like to take care of this body.
00;28;34;23 - 00;28;36;01
Unknown
Because you only have one.
00;28;36;01 - 00;28;36;22
Unknown
I agree.
00;28;36;22 - 00;28;46;27
Unknown
I know you do healing work and you are can take on clients. So if people want to talk to you find out more about you. Your healing work. Where do they find you.
00;28;46;27 - 00;28;48;21
Unknown
I do have an Instagram page that
00;28;48;21 - 00;28;52;06
Unknown
is in construction phase, but
00;28;52;06 - 00;28;53;09
Unknown
it's called
00;28;53;09 - 00;28;55;08
Unknown
well healing vibes.
00;28;55;10 - 00;28;57;24
Unknown
But for now an email is great
00;28;57;24 - 00;29;00;22
Unknown
Jojo at AMW experiences.com.
00;29;00;22 - 00;29;01;06
Unknown

00;29;01;06 - 00;29;15;28
Unknown
